Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests Campground Concession Prospectus The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests will be soliciting proposals for a concession special use permit for the operation of: 43 campgrounds and 2 Group Loops at those campgrounds and 5 day use areas that include picnic areas, boat ramps, and angler parking facilities and a dump station. All sites are fee sites. A prospectus will be available on the GMUG National Forest web site at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/gmug after January 5, 2012. You may request the documents from the contact shown below after that time. Applications will be due on: March 2, 2012. Operations under the new permit will begin on January 1, 2013. The selected applicant will be issued a Granger/Thye special use permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the GMUG. The term of the permit wil be for five (5) years, with another five (5) years to be non-competitively awarded, at the discretion of the Forest Service, upon satisfactory completion of the original permit. The selecting official for this offering will be Charles S. Richmond, Forest Supervisor. An on-site show me trip was held July 18-21, 2011. The 10 recreation sites listed in this Prospectus are all separate areas and each one is a separate bid item. However, a proponent can specify that they are interested in managing one site or a specific combination of sites. The only site currently under permit is Big Bay Recreation Area. The entire Prospectus is also available for viewing on the Mark Twain National Forest’s website at www.fs.usda.gov/mtnf/recreation. This website will serve as the main source for all Prospectus related information and updates throughout this solicitation and selection process. Please review the Prospectus carefully. ** Closed ** Inyo National Forest Campground Concession Prospectus The Inyo National Forest will issue a campground prospectus on September 30, 2011 for three campground concession permits with operations that will begin in January, 2012. The prospectus solicits proposals to operate, maintain and provide high-quality public service in government-owned recreation facilities, located on the Inyo National Forest under a special use permit. Three permits will issued; one permit will be issued for Complex #1 Rock Creek and Convict Lake Area Campgrounds, one permit will be issued for Complex #2 Bishop and Big Pine Creek Area Campgrounds, and one permit will be issued for Complex #3 Mt. Whitney and Onion Valley Area Campgrounds. Each permit area must have a separate application, and each application must be accompanied with the information as stated in the prospectus. The prospectus includes campgrounds on the White Mountain, Mammoth, and Mount Whitney Ranger Districts Please review the Prospectus carefully. ** Closed ** San Bernardino National Forest Campground Concession Prospectus The San Bernardino National Forest is soliciting proposals from interested parties to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of government owned recreation facilities, located on the San Bernardino National Forest, Mountaintop Ranger District.
The Forest Service is soliciting bids for three separate complexes: Arrowhead, Big Bear and Barton Flats. Each complex requires a separate application. A total of 14 family campgrounds and 18 group campgrounds will be operated by a private business, or businesses, under concession campground special use permits with the Forest Service,” said Jody Noiron, Forest Supervisor.
This business opportunity includes family campgrounds and group campgrounds, located in the San Bernardino mountains, east of San Bernardino, California. The forest intends to authorize up to three special use permits as a result of this offering.

** Closed ** Daniel Boone National Forest Campground Concession Prospectus The Daniel Boone National Forest has advertised a recreation prospectus for the operation of multiple campgrounds on the Cumberland Ranger District. Campgrounds are located around Cave Run Lake and within Red River Gorge. UPDATE as of 9-29-11 - DEADLINE has been EXTENDED to October 28, 2011. UPDATE as of 10-3-11 - Errata #3 - Multiple Revisions. Errata #3 describes mutiple revisions to the Prospectus. There are two versions of the prospectus dated 10/7/11 now posted on the Daniel Boone National Forest website. One version displays all the edits with the 'track changes' turned on so you can see the original text as well as how the document has been modifiied. The second version is a clean copy with all 'track changes' accepted. The second document displays all the edits and not the original text that has been changed. The recreation areas are located on and near Lake Moomaw in Bath and Alleghany Counties.

The application deadline is extended to October 7, 2011. The amendments posted today are summarized as follows: The provision about land and water based fuel sales at the marina being a required service is amended to fuel sales being an optional service. If holder does not provide fuel service, applicable state requirements described in the prospectus do not apply (pages 4, 8, 10, 11 and 23 of the prospectus). The provision that current Forest Service fees be honored through the first full operating season is removed. Holder may propose reasonable price adjustments with justification for the 2012 operating season (page 32 of the prospectus). The provision that Blowing Springs Campground, McClintic Point Campground and Bolar Mountain Campground operating season begin no later than April 1 is amended to an operating season that begins no later than May 1 (pages 14, 16, 40 and 41 of the prospectus). The provision that Blowing Springs Campground, McClintic Point Campground and one of the camping loops of Bolar Mountain Campground have an extended operating season for deer hunting season is amended to one of these three camping loops remaining open through deer firearms hunting season, typically the first weekend in December (14, 16, 18, 40 and 41). The provision that Morris Hill Campground, Coles Point Picnic Shelters and Coles Point Boat Ramp operating season extend until September 30 at a minimum is amended to the operating season extending until the weekend after Labor Day at a minimum (pages 18 and 22 of the prospectus). A typographical error that stated reservations are already being accepted for the 2011 operating season is corrected to state reservations are already being accepted for the 2012 operating season through the NRRS (page 28 of the prospectus). Clarification is made to off-season staffing requirements for Fortney Branch and Bolar Flat boat ramps (pages 41 and 42 of the prospectus). The deadline for submitting applications is extended from September 9 to October 7, 2011 (page 38 of the prospectus).
