Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus

 

The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, located in east-central Arizona, is Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest web site at www.fs.fed.us/r3/asnf in the section titled Spotlights.

 

A show-me trip will be offered on June 28, 2011. Details and an itinerary will be posted on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests web site by June 8, 2011. For a copy of the show-me trip information - click Show-Me Trip.

 

You must RSVP by June 24, 2011 if you plan on attending the show-me trip.

Campground Concession Prospectus

 

The Fremont-Winema National Forest has a solicitation now available for businesses interested in providing visitor services at various recreation sites within the Fremont-Winema National Forest. Update 7/6/11: Dear Intersted Parties, Fourmile Campground is now open since the snow has melted. The site visit is scheduled now for Wednesday July 13th at 9 am. We will meet at the Sunset boat ramp parking area. We will tour Sunset, Rainbow, Aspen and Fourmile. Any questions, please call me.

South Park Ranger District

Pike and San Isabel National Forest - Colorado

Concession Prospectus Package

 

The South Park Ranger District is soliciting applications for a concession special use permit for the operation of: 20 campgrounds, a trailhead; two day use areas that include six picnic areas, a boat ramp, and angler parking facilities. All sites are fee sites. A prospectus is available on the Pike National Forest web site at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/psicc/.

 

Applications will be due by COB on July 15, 2011. Operations under the new permit will begin on January 1, 2012.

The selected applicant will be issued a Granger/Thye special use permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the South Park Ranger District. The selecting official for this offering will be Kristen Sexton, South Park District Ranger.

 

An on-site show-me trip will be offered on June 6, 2011. Details and the itinerary will be posted on the website by May 16, 2011. RSVP by June 1, 2011 if you plan on attending the show-me trip.

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus

 

The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest issued a campground prospectus on

April 1, 2011 for two campground concession operations that will begin January 1, 2012.

 

The prospectus solicits proposals to operate and maintain campgrounds and day-use areas under a special use permit. Two permits will issued; one permit will be issued for Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts along the Sierra Front and one permit will be issued for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District in Northeastern Nevada.

 

The prospectus includes 19 campgrounds on the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts and 9 campgrounds and day-use facilities on the Ruby Mountains Ranger District. Forest Headquarters are located in Sparks, Nevada with District offices located in Bridgeport, California, Carson City, Nevada and Wells, Nevada.

Each prospectus is available to download from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/htnf/bpcprospectus for the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts, and www.fs.usda.gov/goto/htnf/rmrdprospectus for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District.

An informational meeting and site visit will be held during the week of June 13-17th for the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts and June 20-24th for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District.

Sequoia National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus 

 

The Sequoia National Forest is soliciting proposals from interested parties for a concession campground special Use permit.  A permit or permits to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities, located on the Sequoia National Forest and Giant Sequoia National Monument, will be issued.  One selected applicant will be issued a permit for developed sites on the Hume Lake Ranger district.  One selected applicant will be issued a permit for developed sites on the Western Divide Ranger District and Kern River Ranger District.  The same applicant could be selected for both offerings.

Bighorn National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus

 

The Bighorn National Forest has issued a prospectus for campground concessions beginning February 1, 2012. The prospectus solicits for proposals to operate campgrounds under a special use permit. Further details are in the prospectus. This operation is located in north central Wyoming in the Bighorn Mountains.

Mark Twain National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus 

 

The Mark Twain National Forest is pleased to announce the availability of a Prospectus to solicit applications for a concession campground special-use permit.  A permit or permits to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Ava/Cassville/Willow Springs, Poplar Bluff, Potosi/Fredericktown, Salem, Houston/ Rolla/Cedar Creek and Eleven Point Ranger Districts, Mark Twain National Forest will be issued.  The permit or permits will include one or more of the following developed sites:

·        Big Bay Recreation Area

·        Cobb Ridge Recreation Area

·        Council Bluff Recreation Area

·        Greer Crossing Recreation Area

·        Lane Spring Recreation Area

·        Loggers Lake Recreation Area

·        Marble Creek Recreation Area

·        Markham Springs Recreation Area

·        North Fork Recreation Area

·        Red Bluff Recreation Area

The Prospectus is now available for viewing on the Mark Twain National Forest’s website at www.fs.usda.gov/mtnf. Here you will find the main prospectus document, as well as all appendices. Detailed information on this business opportunity, Forest Service concession program and policies, special use permit, application and post-selection requirements are available in the Prospectus. This website will also serve as the main source for all Prospectus related information and updates throughout this solicitation and selection process. Detailed information on the recreation facilities and historic income will be available in the Prospectus.

 

The sites listed in this prospectus are all separate areas, and each one is a separate bid item; however, a proponent can specify that they are only interested in accepting award for any given site if they are also awarded other specific sites.  Please see the Prospectus Package above for the specific list of facilities included in this solicitation.

 

Recreation Areas were under concession with three separate special-use permits, each issued to a separate entity, and these permits expired on December 31, 2010. None of the other sites are currently under permit, nor have they been within the past 3 years.  The permit(s) offered in this solicitation will be issued for a term of five years, with the option for an additional five year term till 2020.

Please review the Prospectus carefully. Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the recreation sites before submitting an application. Each applicant is expected to make an independent assessment of the business opportunity offered in this prospectus.

 

Personnel from the Mark Twain National Forest will be available to meet with prospective proponents and provide access into the Recreation Sites. Field visits with Forest Service personnel can be scheduled between February 22 and March 2, inclusive by arranging them at least 3 business days in advance with each of the assigned district contacts. Because of the distance between sites, proponents should not plan to visit more than 3-4 sites in a day.

 Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest
Campground Concession Prospectus
           

The Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland has issued a Final Prospectus for campground concessions beginning January 1, 2012.  The Prospectus solicits for proposals to operate campgrounds and day-use areas under a special use permit.  There are two items offered:  1) Campgrounds and adjacent day-use areas;  2) Brainard Lake Recreation Area (day-use).  Both items must be bid and both items will be awarded to a single entity.  Further details are in the prospectus.  These operations are along the front range of Colorado, and to the west of Rocky Mountain National Park. 
 

The Prospectus document and the two Sample Operating Plans associated  with the Prospectus have been modified.  The revised documents are posted on our web site as of Friday 2/11/11.

We have extended the due date for the Proposals to Friday, 2/25/11 at 5pm, with documents required to be in our office at that time.


Operations under the new permit will begin on January 1, 2012.  There is a $750 application fee.  Also a $50 fee for business plan review is required.

Shawnee National Forest

 

The Shawnee National Forest is pleased to announce the availability of a Prospectus for a special-use permit for the Lake Glendale Recreation Area and Redbud Campground.  A permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Hidden Springs Ranger District of the Shawnee National Forest will be issued.

 

The Prospectus is now available for viewing on the Shawnee National Forest’s website at www.fs.usda.gov/shawnee

The Lake Glendale Recreation Area and Redbud Campground, two separate areas are listed in this prospectus as one bid item; however, the Redbud Campground can be an optional item.  Please see the Prospectus Package above for the specific list of facilities included in this solicitation. Caribou-Targhee National Forest

Campground Concession Prospectus

               

The Caribou-Targhee National Forest has issued a prospectus for campground concessions on the Ashton/Island Park Ranger District.  We presently have one special use permit authorizing campground concession for the Ashton/Island Park Ranger District.  This permit will expire at the end of this year. This prospectus involves 11 fee sites and also offers additional revenue generating opportunities.

Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area

 

USDA Forest Service, Shasta-Trinity National Forest, is pleased to announce that a prospectus to solicit applications for the operation and maintenance of 55 Government owned campgrounds, picnic areas and boat ramp recreation sites located within the Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area is now available for review.  The Forest Service is looking for applicants to provide high-quality public services at these sites.

Interior Department Announces New Policy on Firearms

Department of the Interior has finalized updated regulations governing the possession of firearms in national parks and wildlife refuges. The final rule, which updates existing regulations, would allow an individual to carry a concealed weapon in national parks and wildlife refuges if, and only if, the individual is authorized to carry a concealed weapon under state law in the state in which the national park or refuge is located.
